10 things you need to know about Denise Kendrick

Denise and I were talking today about work and schedules and about the two new books we have coming out in April.
Then I read this blog article that said: It’s important to know where you’re headed, and to also gain a clear perspective on what’s motivating you to get there. Do you have a clear goal? Do you do at least one thing per day to help get you there? What motivates you?
So, in the car, I started thinking about Denise and how great she is… and while cooking dinner I came up with 10 things everyone needs to know about her.
1. She’s smart. Like… really smart. She looks at things from a different angle than most anyone I know and it tends to force me to challenge what I know about topics I thought I knew stuff about.
2. She’s talented. Wickedly so. I’m not kidding when I say I’m her biggest fan. She can disappear for a couple of hours and come back online with… something amazingly lyrical, something deeply philosophical, something whimsical and funny sexy or the deepest cracked out crack that ever did crack a crack. I’m serious people. And bob love her for it.
3. She challenges me. She often doesn’t let me fall back on easy responses, she encourages me to look at life in a way that makes me want to be better. She has encouraged me and inspired me to DO better.
4. She has the worlds most awesome cats. Jack. Who sits around a lot and sleeps, but is very wise. And … I kid you not, “Awesome Town” who lives up to its name without question. I had the pleasure of meeting awesome town and she is indeed the most awesome cat. And I don’t even really LIKE cats.
5. She dislikes clutter. She told me one day she was going to clear out the house. And by golly she did. I was worried she was going to get rid of so much she’d have to sit on the floor to work!
6. She laughs at me. I don’t know if you know this, but I think I’m funny. *eye roll* But Denise (Kitten) laughs at my jokes. She laughs at my crazy one lined flailing comments that come flying out of left field.
7. She’s a fiend for chocolate. No lie. Safe bet present for her is a box of chocolate. But avoid any that are shaped or in any way have anything to do with body parts. That’s a real no no. No matter how great they taste.
8. She’s creative. Pretty much every year she creates these awesome christmas cards. One year she made one where you could put tree’s on a wintery slope, then there were bunnies on sleds and stars you could place in the sky and lots of other stuff. I played with that for a long time.
9. She loves anime. Which is kind of funny because often she’s completely flummoxed by it as well. She’ll come on IM and laugh at me that she has no idea what crack these people were on when they wrote the anime but damn if it isn’t the most awesome thing she’s ever watched in her life.
10. She’s my best friend. woobie.
