I know it’s hard, but try following my train of thought

Denise and I have a lot of books in progress. This is both a delight - as there is never a lack of places and characters to work on. And a despair - as we don’t necessarily want to start working on something new with so many other things still in pieces.
Denise is someone who can flit from one book to another with a seemingly endless ability to keep them separated and every detail accounted for. Alas, I’m not as good as she is with that. I have to hunker down with one book and one set of characters and really let them take over my head before I can write anything that makes sense.
We’ve been taking a 2nd look at the final book in the “My Brother’s Keeper” universe and reworking/retelling certain parts to make it a stronger end for the story. I’ve gotten to a pivotal scene where Ciaran is talking to some emissaries from The City in his new role as Ambassador. But I’ve hit a snag. I want to pull certain elements from Triangulations into the scene and then end it with a rather intense fight/realization/sex scene while a storm rolls out of control outside. I can see it in my head for the most part, but damned if I can’t make it flow off and into the written word.
I think my next step will be to put the whole thing away and go read a book.
I just bought Untamed Heart by Ally Blue, maybe an hour reading that will help me puzzle out how to make Ciaran get through this dinner and Malik come into the room already horny and ready to go.
